NJ-HITEC (New Jersey Health Information Technology Extension Center) is the state's nonprofit, federally funded Regional Extension Center (REC) created in accord with the HITECH Act of 2009. The purpose of NJ-HITEC is to assist NJ primary care providers in the successful adoption, implementation and "Meaningful Use" of EHR systems, and to make available federally funded implementation services.

NJ-HITEC is a federally-designated Regional Extension Center funded by the Office of the National Coordinator, Department of Health and Human Services, Award Number: 90RC0037/01
